Fertility

We understand trying to fall pregnant can be difficult and confusing. Currently in Australia 1 in 6 couples will experience trouble conceiving.

Our approach to fertility is integrative. We use a combination of Chinese medicine, acupuncture, nutritional support and functional medicine to optimise your fertility.

Our experienced practitioners are committed to education and empowering you with the tools you need to understand your body and its fertility. Getting your body ready to conceive is one aspect of our focus, the other is ensuring you have the support you need to go on the fertility journey that is right for you.

Our practitioners are highly trained in fertility, women’s health, all areas of IVF, OI, IUI, donor egg, donor sperm and other areas of ART.

We support all types of families who require assistance in conception including heterosexual couples, single women, and same sex couples.

Natural Fertility

Wherever you may be in your journey, we are here to help. Fertility is a sign of balanced health. While many more couples are struggling to conceive, a large portion are not actually clinically infertile.

Often a few changes to health and lifestyle, and a tailored treatment plan can be very effective in bringing your body back into a state of balance. Our assessment takes into account what is happening from a Chinese medicine perspective, western medicine perspective and your own expectations and wishes.

With men contributing to 50% of fertility issues, we include your partner in the initial work up as we believe it is important to assess the health of both partners.

We are experienced in treating

  • Endometriosis

  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

  • Irregular cycles, anovulatory cycles

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Recurrent miscarriage

  • Unexplained infertility

  • High FSH

  • Low progesterone

  • Improve sperm count, motility and morphology

IVF Support

We understand that going through the IVF journey can be a stressful and expensive process. We are here to support you through each step of the way, using scientifically supported acupuncture techniques to increase the effectiveness of IVF.

Our approach is still holistic. Ideally we will see you 3 months before you start your cycle. Our treatments aim to support positive outcomes for your IVF cycle by balancing hormones, reducing stress, improving follicle development and endometrial lining, and minimising side effects of IVF medications. Where there is male factor infertility, our treatments focus on improving all aspects of sperm health to improve rates of fertilisation. Because sperm regenerates every 120 days, it is recommended that men come in 3 months before your cycle is due to begin.

There is evidence to show that Chinese medicine may improve your IVF outcomes (1).

A 2019 review found that acupuncture is more effective if you have multiple acupuncture sessions to prepare you for your upcoming IVF cycle (2). Our treatment plan is completely tailored to your individual needs rather than using a treatment protocol. This review also suggested that compared to no treatment at all, acupuncture was effective in increasing live births in patients with previously failed cycles (2).

Chinese medicine may improve your IVF and assisted conception outcomes by

  • Decreasing stress in the body that can affect negative cycle outcomes (3)

  • Increase blood flow to the uterus to optimise implantation (4)

  • Improve the receptivity of the uterine lining (5)

  • Increase your chances of pregnancy and life birth (2)

  • Reducing inflammation (6)

  • Regulate hormones (7)

Already in cycle? It's not too late. There is evidence to show that acupuncture pre and post embryo transfer may increase your chances of implantation and pregnancy (4). Where there isn’t time to prepare for a cycle, there is still benefit to having acupuncture during your cycle. Even one session can provide a calm environment to reduce stress, increase blood flow to the uterus, support implantation.
